Hundreds (possibly thousands) of people are being warned to expect what’s being described as “severe and widespread disruption” across the London Underground at the beginning of next week, after the latest Tube strike looks like it will be going ahead.
According to a recent article over at metro.co.uk by Fred Attewill, around 11,000 workers – including station staff and drivers – will be forging ahead with their 24-hour strike as from Sunday evening, which will leave many people’s travel plans in chaos.
The strike is being launched by the TSSA and RMT unions, in protest to plans of cutting 800 jobs at 250 ticket offices right across the Tube network. Reports say that some last-minute discussions were due to be held to try and stop the action from going ahead.
However, a spokesman for the RMT said that the Tube network will be hit with severe and widespread disruption on Monday morning. He went on to say that at best there will be a skeleton service, but it will only be offering a limited number of trains.
